I started work back in 69 with a thorough grounding in broadcast engineering and practice provided at the Evesham training centre. Using this knowledge throughout my life, I have found it opened doors I never thought possible. The ability to reinvent myself and remain useful was the key to my survival in the BBC. Midway I was awarded a freelance camera contract for local news in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. In seventeen years, I travelled over half a million miles. It was the time of my life, and I can say, I have been sent to prison at least seven times.
