A car is, for many of us, an essential part of our lives. It is convenient and offers us the freedom to take to the open road whenever we want. As we gain in years there are many who would argue we also gain experience and knowledge of driving. However, members should be aware that when you reach the age of 70 your driving licence expires. You can still drive if you renew your licence and carry on doing so every three years after that. You should be sent a D46P by the DVLA 90 days before your 70th birthday. If you are due to celebrate that milestone soon then watch out for this in the post. Don’t lose your right to drive and the freedom it allows you to have.

Online application is available via the DVLA and this and other information can be found @
