We know walking is good for us. But how many steps? The British Heart Foundation says while 10,000 steps may be a popular target, new research shows that health benefits can begin with just 7,000 to 8,000 steps a day for most adults. For our members over 60, aiming for 6,000 to 8,000 steps can significantly reduce disease risk. Even a daily count of 3,000 to 4,000 steps can improve health.

Walking is a wonderful way to stay active and improve our health. You may be wondering about where to explore. Check out this helpful website: https://www.timeoutdoors.com/events/walks/uk/may. It lists a variety of walks available throughout May and beyond, tailored to different regions. Joining a walking group is another fantastic way to connect with others while enjoying the outdoors. The Ramblers website offers a wealth of information, showcasing walks for every type of walker, with a small monthly or yearly fee to join. You can find more details here: https://www.ramblers.org.uk/.
