The BBC decided, in the middle of March, that because of the coronavirus it would delay the implementation of the changes to payments from the over ‘75s.    On 1st June free TV licences for up to 3.7 million people had been due to be stopped.  However, in the extraordinary circumstances we all find ourselves in the BBC felt that this was not the right time to implement these changes.  The potential new start date is 1st August.  Read the joint statement from the Government and BBC and also a post from the BBC News website
