In December last year the Government published its Green Paper outlining the changes they are considering making to the Royal Charter to futureproof the BBC and help it continue serving the public. The New Charter will take effect on 1st January 2028. There is a public consultation included in the Green Paper. It takes the form of an online survey which should take between 20-40 minutes depending on the detail of your responses. The survey will cover all the topics in the Green paper. The consultation will be open for 12 weeks from 16 December 2025 to 10 March 2026.
