Whilst US imports of TV ‘cop’ drama series began to be very popular in the 1980’s, two decades before, we had our own police drama series. Beginning in 1962 and made for a time at Riverside Studios, ‘Z-Cars’ ran on BBC Television until 1978. It was recently voted one of the BFI’s 100 Greatest Television Programmes of the 20th Century. Two classic episodes from 1962 and 1964, which were made at Riverside Studios when it was owned by the BBC, will be shown. This will be followed by a Q&A with Brian Blessed, whose role as PC ‘Fancy’ Smith was one of his earliest appearances on television. Don’t miss this chance to watch this iconic TV series in the place where it was made. This event is on Saturday 1st July at 14.00. Click link for more details and booking.
