The announcement by the Government of the proposed sale of Channel 4 has created a backlash from many groups, who are urging the public to fight the proposals.  In the public consultation held by the Government which asked various questions about the potential sale of Channel 4 there was an overwhelming response from the public that it should NOT be sold.  Here are just three of the many groups who have set up petitions to stop the sale.
